27th October 2009
Firefighters from Harden and Young responded to a building fire at Neill St, Harden early this morning. The first arriving crew from Harden discovered smoke was issuing from a local supermarket. They called for assistance and crews from Cootamundra and Goulburn as well as the Duty Commander from Goulburn responded to the fire. The firefighters forced entry into the supermarket but were hindered by explosions from within. After several hours of intense firefighting, the fire was brought under control. A crew remained on scene well into the afternoon to completely extinguish the hot spots and assist in the investigation.
